Description
Ardnamurchan is steeped in rural, coastal woods on a peninsula on the West Coast of Scotland and has stayed true to its natural roots. All the power and heat requirements for the distillery come from local renewables. They have a biomass boiler and hydroelectricity generator that are both fueled by woodchip from the local forestry. They want as little of a footprint as possible. A truly beautiful and remote distillery owned by Adelphi, the independent bottler. Ardnamurchan translates to “Headland of the Great Seas”.
Taste
Matured in Madeira Barriques & Sherry Casks | A marriage of peated and unpeated malted barley
Brand Tasting Notes: Toasted brioche, subtle ginger, candied lemon rind, red cedar, and roasted almond on the nose precede a palate of blueberry pie, soft cherrywood smoke, earthy lemon thyme, coastal grass, and heather with pear, apple, and slate on a mildly peaty and saline-forward finish.
