Description
The name Adelphi traces its origins back to 1825 when the Adelphi Distillery was built in Glasgow. Its name was eventually changed to Loch Katrine Adelphi in the late 1870s. The distillery would be sold and eventually stop all production in the early 1900s. It was revived in 1993 by Jamie Walker who used the site as an independent bottling facility. He would eventually sell it on to the current owners, Keith Falconer and Donald Houston in 2004. Adelphi Selections is one of the most sought-after independent bottlers.
In 2014, Keith and Donald built and opened Ardnamurchan Distillery on the west coast of Scotland.
Taste
Cask No. 5304 | Refill Sherry Butt
Brand Tasting Notes: The nose has juicy clementine, lilac, pink grapefruit, green onion, parchment, peppermint chewing-gum wrapper, smashed bananas, cream, and icing sugar. The palate has Crème de Banane, pastilles, birch bark, graham cracker, flower garden, walnut skin, and violet creams. The finish is spritely and lifted but with good length. Creaminess from nose to finish. A stellar summer dram.
Glenlossie is rarely seen as a single malt and is from the Diageo portfolio, producing malts mostly for their Blended Scotch Whisky brands. It is known to be a very clean and grassy spirit.
