Description
Lost Lantern is a Vermont-based independent bottler of American whiskey, founded by Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski. Inspired by the long tradition of Scotch independent bottlers, the two spent more than a year criss-crossing the United States—visiting distilleries, meeting craft distillers, and sourcing exceptional casks.
Since launching its first releases in late 2020, Lost Lantern has earned wide acclaim: in 2023, it was named Independent Bottler of the Year at the Global Icons of Whisky Awards. Based in Vergennes, Vermont, Lost Lantern bottles both single casks and small-batch blends from more than 30 distilleries across 20+ states, always emphasizing transparency about the origin, age, proof, and distillery source.
Taste
Batch FLM-1
A marriage of whiskeys from Whiskey Del Bac, Tucson, AZ, and Santa Fe Spirits, Santa Fe, NM
Brand Tasting Notes: This is a blend of smoked American whiskies that together evoke brightness and warmth. It brings together mesquite-smoked single malts from Whiskey Del Bac in Arizona and Santa Fe Spirits in New Mexico to create a warm, bright, and smoky whiskey. It has notes of charred oranges, chili chocolate, and smoked meats.
Holly’s Tasting Notes: Poached/roasted apples and pears. Some juicy, old tangerines as well as angel food cake. There is a softness to the nose. The palate is rich with oak spice, dark chocolate burnt caramel, and chai.
